Hi Guy’s,
Wow what a weekend lots of wind and Rain

Fishing Buddy and I went out on Friday afternoon to put the bunks on they sure fit the boat nice thanks Buddy for all your help I couldn’t have done it with out you. :-*

The funniest part was when we were trying to get the boat off of the shore I had to put my waders on and it still took us a good 20 minutes to get her UN stuck. [smiley=yikes.gif] We were able to fish for about and hour and I caught 1 on a U20 red and green 11 ft down in 60 ft of water by pelican.

I met up with Okie on Saturday and with Mallard we were going to go out but the winds and white caps were pretty bad. So they ended up leaving. *The wind died down around noon Art and his buddy was out shore fishing so we all headed out in the boat was only able to fish till 3 caught 2 one 22 on the purple and black stingking with the eyes down 22 ft in 80 ft of water.

Art caught 1 20 feet down in 80 ft of water on his lure its purple with black also caught by pelican. Met up with Mr. Sockeye and friend at Crosby eating dinner nice to see you again Mike.

I woke up Sunday morning to a beautiful morning got on the water at 930 am fished with Angle and Mary. *Angle has never been on a boat or fished Pyramid lake so I was going to have fun with him I love the virgins. *[smiley=rotfl2.gif]I explained to him what I wanted him and Mary to do at the dock.

We started fishing from Pelican to the nets I let Angle drive the boat why I set everything up. He was so funny I would stand in the back of the boat rocking it and he would say what’s happening why is it rocking so bad or there would be boats next to us and he would yell out hey cant you see me get out of my way.
Angle you did a great job for your first time in a boat. *[smiley=elephant.gif] We were using flat fish but no bites so we changed to stingkings the purple and black and a watermelon. Finally a take down I grab the pole pulled it of the downrigger and handed it to Angle Mary takes over driving the boat.

The fish gets almost to the boat but to far away for the net and it does a flip and said see ya. Angle was so upset it was a pretty nice one I told him we will catch another one no worries. We caught another one on the other pole so Angle brought it in a nice 17inch.

It was a little to close for me so we let it go no sooner did we do that the winds started picking up. So we pick up put everything away and away I go. We were down by the nets the white caps are coming in pretty good I look over at Angle and he had that look on his face I asked him if he was scared and he said yes a little. *[smiley=yikes.gif]

I was only doing about 20-23 miles coming back in I get to the dock and I turn around and said Angle can you jump on to the dock he said I have never done it before but I will try. [smiley=nerves.gif] Ok plan B I didn’t want him falling off of the dock. *[smiley=rotfl2.gif]So I told him I will get close to the dock and I want you to grab the back rope and hook it around the metal thing on the dock. It took me 3 times to get close enough but we did it again nice job Angle.

No sooner did we get off of the water the wind and rain started up Angle and Mary thank you so much I had a lot of fun I look forward to next Sunday I’ll teach Angle how to back the trailer up so I can drive it on. [smiley=rotfl2.gif]

Good to see you again, it has been a month and half since my last Pyramid trip. The fishing was definitely tough, and it was almost impossible to keep the boat going straight with all that wind. I got royally sunburned when the sun finally came out. I was down to a T-Shirt for about 5 minutes, then the wind came back up.

Here is my Pyramid Report. I didn't take any pics because all we caught were little guys. Saturday, the Catfish King and myself when on an all day trophy hunt, concentrating on various west shore beaches. The fishing was slow, as we expected it to be. It got off to a great start when I nailed the big fish of the day just off the boat ramp. It was a nice spawn colored 22" buck. About 5 minutes later, the Catfish King nailed a 17 incher. After that, we absolutely pounded the area around the Nets. I've come to the conlusion that it is about impossible to troll that area simply because all the goo on the bottom. The goo constantly fouls your lure. After about 3 hours there and one fish, we pounded our way all the way down to Dago Bay. The fishing was decent there, we quickly landed 3 more fish. The only problem was a 20 MPH wind coming right out of the south. That made my east to west trolling run just about impossible. I couldn't stay in the desired water depth for diddly. Then we trolled over to Popcorn, we picked up two more fish at Popcorn. We trolled all the way up to Blockhouse for nada. Then we picked up and headed back to Pelican hoping to slam a few where we got into them in the morning... no luck. Finally we worked Warriors Point until about dark. We got one more fish and absolutely zero in the really shallow water.

It was a tough day, but I did burn some boat gas, which was the mission. My boat has been sitting around for a month and I wanted to run some fuel through it. We caught some fish, and despite the lack of the trophy I was looking for, it turned out okay.

At Crosby's on Saturday Evening, we learned a 13 and a 10 were caught at the Nets that day. So Sunday I went out and tossed a jig and a fly from my ladder. I fished for about 3 hours at the Nets and saw 2 very small fish caught for about 15 fishermen. I just don't have the patience to fish for 2 days to get one strike, even if it is likely to be a hog. I headed to Dago and got drenched in the rain... no fish encountered. Finally I went to Blockhouse and tried a couple of casts... nada. 5 trips off the bank this year, one fish landed.
