Went out to Pyramid with Mr.Sockeye and boy was it tough. We put in and ran into Jetspray and Captain Compassion. We all went south to the nets. No fish, but we did see two caught from a mixed group of fly and spin guy's on the bank. Then as the Capt. and Jetspray went north, we went to the Pyramid. This whole time with a bad inversion and near freezing temps. We fished the Pyramid area for one fish. After that we went north for nothing. Mr. Sockeye said lets go back to the west and work a spot Ive done good in. On the way west BAM thick thick fog! It was so bad you couldn't see 20' :o. Well we found his spot and caught 3 more. I dont have a clue as what part of the lake this spot was in I couldn't see $&#@! Then came the 30min boat ride in BAD fog in the dark :o Mr. Sockeye worked very hard all day to find his two and my two. Thanks Mike!

It was fun out there even though the weather sucked. I'm still a little fried after that drive back in the dark doing 26 MPH and not being able to see past the bow. Thank God we were the only crazy *******s still out there. I was scanning with every fiber of my vision no to hit another boat in the dark. Thank goodness my GPS was working good. That 25 incher was one of the neatest looking cutts of the season, with the huge lower jaw and the complete lack of spots. It actually looked a lot like a Heenan Fish. It sure did put up a nice fight, it was really magnified by the hours of nothing. It's Tahoe Time! Those pics do no justice to just how foggy it really was. That's funny that you couldn't see my secret spot in all that fog. ;D ;D Maybe we'll fish it again on another foggy day. ;)

We were ready set go but my boat wasn't cooperating maybe it is alergic to water. Well you guys had a great day in my book and it shows in your pics and commentary. Boating in the fog is always a joy, when visibility gets that low stop, make sure you have PFD's on, turn on your radio, turn on your running lights, have a spotlight hooked up ready to use, and pray alot. Good idea to keep your head on a swivel as well. Nice to see you fellas out enjoying yourselves anyway......Jetspray

Just little friendly warning guys. If the Tribe sees a trailer in the lot after it gets dark, they might launch a SAR. If they do and you show up, it's going to cost you big time $.

I saved Mako's buns a couple of years ago when they saw his trailer in the lot after dark. The Rangers were calling for the rescue crew when I told them to wait a while longer since I'd heard him on the radio. I didn't stick around for when he finally got back, so I don't know if they said or did anything to him. Maybe he recalls the incident.

It's a good thing for you that they don't usually pay much attention in the winter.

A couple of fest's ago the S&R launched around midnight or so because someone reported seeing lights out on the lake and there were empty trailers in the parking lot. Those were from folks who had beached their boats but the rangers did come into camp (woke me up) to ask if all of our boats were accounted for. They will check it out if they feel there's a need.

Nice couple of fish guys.

Glad you guys caught fish. Fog is fun isn't it? Got caught out on Tahoe a couple of times with no gps!! No phone or vhf. Lost lonely feeling puttin' around out there, can't tell which way to go. Luckily I was on the flats and new if I started getting deeper I was going the wrong way. Glad you made it in OK.

My brother and son went to Pyramid last Tuesday and worked hard to catch two 20 inch fish. Now my son lost one nice size cow that threw the hook when he started letting up on his pole. His first time ever hooking A large trout and getting over excited
Horsing it in. We caught one on A silver and gray Repala in 30 feet of water, the other I caught with A Orange and Brass hammed spoon. My son also lost his big fish with my Spoon in about 15 feet deep near the bottom in A cove near pop corn..

All in all was A great trip out doors in very nice calm winter weather; plus we only fished about 5 hours. My BROTHER is taking Chemo fighting for his life to beat Colon Cancer and *the cold air just from breathing was hard on him. We been fishing Pyramid since 1969 when you had to buy the Indian fishing permit And Nevada fishing license on top of that! In April 1969 spring break from high school when I was 16 caught and released 5 to 8 lb trout all day from shore! Have A warm spot in my heart for fishing Pyramid 40 years latter, and still catch big fish from time to time. Good luck to all who try!
