* * Went out to Pardee a few times this month, searching for trout, after a post by Pugboat. *First time was Wednesday, the 10th, and it took us a while to find them, but find them we did. *Also, ran into the Pugboat.

Pugboat, Jeff and his wife were delightful...

My buddy Mike, with one of his.

We had our limit by around noon, and had such a good time, we had to go back and hit it agaain on Saturday, the 13th.

Nice limit.biggest was a tad over 4lbs.

This is my big trout of the year, the 4 lb'er

* * That day, were were first on the water at 6:15, and had limits at 9:30. *had to go back one more time, just to make sure it was not a fluke, on Friday, the 19th. *Saw lots of Sniffers prefishing for the tourney, and it was a bit more traffic in our spot, but we still managed to bring home 9. *funny part. *I accidently left my gear at home, (oldtimer's, I guess). *got to our spot, opened up the bag, and, NOTHING. *My partner Mike, said, "Turn this boat around and lets go back and get what we need at the marina". *Yeow. *I stole some hooks of some other tackle, and rigged up some "other" dodgers, and started in. *We made out usual pass, were we had been getting 3-4 fish, for a big zero. *Ran back up wind, turned around, and made our drift again. *Nothing. *
* I remembered buying some of these dodgers for a koke fishing trip earleir in the year, but somehow they had not found their way into my gear box. *I started snooping around, and found them stuffed way down into the sides of the boat. *Changed out the dodgers, and BAM, fish on first pass, and then a second one before Mike could get the first one in. *Ran out of night crawler's, and went home with 9.

Here's the best 5.

This is all leading up to the DFG free fishing day. *My Dad and I used to hike and fish the streams all over the Sierra's back in the day. *It had been a while since he had been out, and as I had told him of the trout in Pardee, he wanted to go. *
* *Out we go, getting a bit of a late start, passed Gadjetman, and my good buddy Stonesfan on our way up river. *Fished until 7 pm, without so much as a nibble. *Also, the camera batteries were dead, so no shot taken that day. *Sure was busy upriver, lots of traffic, and although we were marking lots of fish, none of them wanted anything to do with us. *Oh well, a nice day with Pops, although a bit embarrassing.

All the way up river. *

Crystal Basin Wild things, silver, watermelon, and the red ones with eye's

Crawlers, theaded naked on a #1 Gammy worm hook.

Garlic or Anise scent.

here's the weird part....55-75 Ft. back, top lined.

Thats my story, and I'm sticking to it

Few more pic's....
