View Full Version : Eagle Lake

Just returned from Eagle Lake fishing the past couple days. *It was a great trip. *W caught many fish both days, with our limits ranging from 19" to 24", some in the 4 lb range. *The boat ramp at the Marina was a concern with very shallow water. *We made it in and out ok, but there were rock hazards on each side with water at the launch only about 2 feet deep. *Some larger boats were seen running into rocks or aground. *But once you made it out, it was great! *The surface water temp was about 66 degrees, with air temps in the low 40s in the early hours warming to the 80s. *We caught fish from 10-35 feet deep fishing between Eagle's Nest and Ronald McDonald Camp. *There was large schools of bait fish in that area, which I think has drawn in large numbers of trout. *

We planed on worm fishing but didn't have to. *Our fish were caught on Kokanee/Trout Killers *with E-Chips and Koke a Nuts from Shasta Tackle. *We didn't have to use flashers. *There were a lot of boats early but would thin out by 10 am. *We caught most of our fish before then. * *

Thanks for the report
What colors were you using with the trout/koka. killers and Koke a nuts?

Hold Purple/silver on the kokanee killer and pink w silver/black skirt on the kok-a-nut. Tried a few other things but these worked well and stuck with them. I'm going to attempt photos from the trip later tonight...jim
