Was planning on heading there Memorial Weekend with the canoe and go into the wilderness area to camp. Hows the lake look? Last year it was real low and without much rain and snow this winter I am affraid it might be real bad.

Has anyone been up there recently? If so what should i expect???

I just checked with both Ebbetts Pass Sporting Goods and NCPA who runs Spicer. The road is still closed. NCPA's recorded message says June 1st to open. If the weather stays warm, it could open sooner.
Best phone # is 209.728.1387 for NCPA. Alpine is still mostly frozen, too.

Nothing in Arnold - still some berms and snow in Dorrington. Just put my tomatoes in barrels yesterday - hope I'm not too early.

Was up there today. Road still closed, but we did a little (Long) hike. Water wasn't too bad, but it was low. Took all day, and didn't get a chance to toss in, but it was well worth it.

Can anyone confirm is the water is high enough to launch a boat yet ?

Hammerdog, When I stopped by Monday the ramp was still 3-4 feet out of the water. There was a 4-10 inch drop from the concrete to a sandy bottom at the bottom of the ramp. Take a shovel just in case you need to "modify" your exit while loaded. With the amount of water pouring in it should be ok this weekend. How big of a boat are we talking about? Do you have a 4X4? I would feel ok about lauching my 18ft Hewes Craft with my 4x4.

Ahhhh. that is music to my ears. If I had known, I would of made a run up there, instead of being blown all over Melones today. thanks Cammy.
