Does anyone know if the ice has started to melt yet?

FRENCHMAN RESERVOIR, CALIF: Wiggin's Trading Post at Chilcoot, Calif. (530-993-4683): Frenchman remains entirely frozen. Fishing has slowed down but those who are willing to hike up towards Lunker Point are catching some nice rainbows. Use small jigs and nightcrawlers.
This is about a week old.

I drove by Almanor on Sunday and it was pretty much covered with ice and snow. So, I would think that Frenchman's is just like Almanor.

It has been warm enough up here to start melting some during the day and nights are still in the low teens here at the homestead, but there was alot of ice on the lake...upwards of 18" as of a week ago.
But word is that the fishing at Frenchman is DEAD, so I will be keeping my ears open for word when it does get better.

Almanor has a good amount of open water in the main body. It is frozen up north and by the dam including in front of the boat ramp.
