Merritt Gilbert reported a few king salmon have been taken on rolled shad in the 65- to 100-foot depth range, with the best action at 80 feet from the Pine Flat Resort to the Dam. Trout are located at 4 to 5 colors on blue/silver or yellow/silver UV Apex lures. The fish are in the main lake area. A bass angler had a 3-pound salmon hit a 5-inch Senko in 25 feet of water. Buck Deaner said most anglers complained of hit or miss trout/salmon fishing. On the bass fishing front, most anglers have been quiet due to upcoming tournaments. Swimbaits have been hit or miss with the most consistent action on drop shotting or dart heading shad colored plastics along main lakes points or walls. The bass are moving daily, chasing the shad schools. A few catfish have been taken upriver near Trimmer on nightcrawlers. The lake has come up to 22% capacity. The lower Kings below the Dam continues to receive weekly trout plants, including the trophy Kamloops fish. There has been great interest in the trophy fish and the banks are lined with anglers. Doyal's Store reported more than 20 of the large fish averaging 5 pounds were landed over the weekend on either meal worms or nightcrawlers.
