Field scout Chris Counts of Fresno reported easy limits of trout from 12 to 15 inches from the surface to 25 feet near the Dam, Zebe Cove and Lombardo's on homemade spinners in either shad or perch pattern behind a Vance's nickel dodger smeared with Pro-Cure Krill and Predator Gels. They also landed king salmon to 3 pounds on rolled shad injected with Pro-Cure Shad Sauce at depths from 65 to 95 feet in 140 to 155 feet of water. Buck Deaner confirmed the limit trout fishing for planted rainbows to 14 inches in a variety of areas near the Dam, Power Lines and Trimmer on Vance's Slim Fins or ExCel lures behind a Vance's Blade. The planted fish have scattered throughout the lake. Doyal's Store reported good bank fishing near Deer Creek or Trimmer with Power Bait or nightcrawlers. Merritt Gilbert said bass fishermen continue to score numerous trout on rip baits while targeting bass. Gilbert reported bass fishing as fair from the banks to 25 feet with a smaller grade of fish at 40 to 50 feet with drop shotting, dart heading or jigs. There are a few fish taken on rip baits. The lower Kings below the Dam continues to receive weekly trout plants. Doyal's Store reported the river is quite low, and very small planted fish are being taken on Power Bait, nightcrawlers or salmon eggs.
