Shaver Lake/Huntington Lake

**Kokanee ***Trout

Paul Kalpakoff of Central Sierra Outfitters pulled in easy limits of next year's kokanee to 12 inches and rainbow trout trolling from Rock Haven Cove towards DoraBella and Swanson's Cove with candy hot pink #1 Vance's Sockeye Slammers or red sparkle PPK Tomahawk spinner behind a set of Baby Cow Bells at depths of 25 feet. Buck Deaner and Merritt Gilbert confirmed the good bite and touted it as the best trout bite in the area. Watermelon or chartreuse colored lures behind a Vance's or Sling Blade dodger or Wedding Rings tipped with a 'crawler also are working. Shaver is holding at 67% capacity. Merritt Gilbert reported limit fishing with Power Bait or Kastmasters from the banks at Huntington Lake near Lakeshore Marina. A few anglers have been pulling their small boats through the mud or launching with a 4WD searching for the large brown trout. The lake is holding at 63% capacity.
