I went up to Pinecrest this past weekend and caught 8 fish in about 45 minutes. Fish seemed to be stocked up in the dam area as everyone was catching fish. I threw a kastmaster at the trout for about 10 minutes then I switched to powerbait with no weight and let it sink and they hit it before it could hit the bottom. All fish were about 12-15''

Had same results about 3 weeks ago when I was there.

..they would follow my lure but not hit it.

Switched to PB and fish on! Small fish but FUN!

Hey Rufkm, were you fishing off the shore or in a boat.
Is the launch ramp still open that a car topper can unload and launch? Anyone trolling when you were there?
BTW just curious as I'm new to trout fishing...how do you cast PB without a sinker and it drops to the bottom? I would have thought the PB would float?

A small ball of it on a treble hook will sink slowly. A bb split shot or two just about 16" above it will do it too.

I can assume ramp is way out of water but can you still boat through over to the main channell or has the water dropped below the first point?
