Two of my fishing buddies and I spent last weekend fishing Lake Almanor. We arrived at Knotty Pine Resort at 7am Friday morning and were fishing by 8am. Unfortunately, there was a strong north wind (and full moon) that blew all day long. We trolled in Rec Area 1 from 8am to 6pm and picked up 3 decent Browns from 1.5 to 2.5 lbs. They all hit the threaded crawler on leadcore down 4 colors (naked). Saturday was a great day, both weather and fishing. We stuck with Rec Area 1 and managed to put 12 fish in the boat, 1 rainbow (1.5lbs), 1 smallmouth (3lbs) and 10 Browns (1.5 to 4.5lbs). Most of the smaller bows and bass hit the threaded crawler, the larger bows hit both a rainbow and brown pattern ZRay on the downriggers down around 25 feet. I actually got 3 rainbows but released 2 and they hit a shad pattern XCEL. We only fished a couple hours Sunday morning and got 3 short strikes on the crawlers. I managed to get one to the boat and lost it before we could get the net around it. All in all a great weekend. I hope the picture gets posted as I switched to a new photo posting site. http://mikesfish.lenzus.com/cgi/item?67748537+18765239+0+99314343+1
