New to the board and have read through the FAQ's about jigs, lures, spoons, etc. I'll be fishing at Lake Tahoe, mostly from shore, and am looking for specific advice on the size/weight of the spoons, lures and jigs to use? I notice that there are many choices and it seems that most of the specifics mentioned in the articles and FAQ's on the board are more for trolling and fishing from a boat. Any adice on brands and types of lures is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I don't think I remember a trout being caught from shore on a lure. Of course it happens, but not that often. I recommend this sometimes. Go to Rubicon Point on west shore. You can trap minnows from shore in the rocks there. Then fish a minnow under a bobber at about 30 to 40 feet deep. Jigging is an option if you get right under the cliffs there. You can also use crawlers full of your favorite smell good stuff.

Cave rock is another area to try, again, go with minnows and crawlers.

Do a search on Rubicon, you will find more details.
