is the river that flows thru downieville the yuba? can't find it in the regs...unless it's the yuba.

i went swimming in a nice hole there a couple weeks ago and had my diving mask. i saw some lunker trout suspended off the bottom. there was probably about 30 trout all in a small school hanging out in a small pool area where they were picking food out from the water column as it came floating by. it was really, really cool.

any tips for fishing this stretch of river? i'll either be using bait or lures.

77 I'm gonna try and point you in the right direction for fishing the Yuba near Downieville, but it's late so I will send you a pm after I get some sleep. Kneedeep

The major river that runs next to town is the NF Yuba. You also have Downieville Creek and that flows under the bridge in town.

77 check your pm's and don't forget the area from the confluence of Lady's Canyon Creek to Sierra City has special regulations (artifical lure-single barbless hook) and size limit, I think it's two trout also.
Take some pictures and let us know how you did.
