Going to make a run over to the east side lakes for a few days, any one have any thoughts on the hot lake(s) right now. I'll take my boat over & could try different lakes but would be nice to start on a good one. June Lake loop? Mammoth lake area? Twin lakes? Convict? others???? Thanks for the help.

For the boat/lake action there have been some great Sniffer reports from Bridgeport.

Convict Lake. Fish the Right bank from the big dead tree all the way to the back of the lake. Use a frog Needle Fish at around 4 - 6 colors. It Don't get any better than this.

I live in Martinez, where there are three refineries... I am lucky about the gas prices... 10 cents cheaper than anywhere else...

Where do you think the refineries are and why Nevada prices are some of the highest in the country?*You certainly do use California gas. *If possible you should avoid buying gas on US-395 between Bridgeport and Bishop. *You will pay seasonal resort prices in this area. *Bishop has reasonable prices and points south. *Both Crowley and Bridgeport are a good bet to catch a fish that wasn't living in a tank last week. *I think June will be a good month for both those lakes. ;) *If you're talking about being in the Bishop area during Memorial Weekend half of Los Angeles will be there with you. *You should find a bigger lake where you can spread your wings a little. *Convict is beautiful but will be a total zoo! *It's too small for that kind of pressure. *I'm sure that DFG will plant the lakes in the area heavily for the holiday.

We pay $3.52 per ga. at South Lake Tahoe. A lot people drive to Carson or Gardnerville up here and go to Costco and Wall Mart. Never buy gas in Bridgeport unless you have to. Go up 395 to Walker it's always cheaper than Bridgeport.

Thanks for the info guys. I know it will be a zoo over there but when at the zoo you get to see all the animals right? Yep the gas prices suck these days, my wife & I have fished 10 of the last 13 weekend so our weekend gas bill is a big one. I just fill it & don't think to much, but I did put $79 in the truck yesterday....ouch!
