View Full Version : Berryessa 5/6 in the wind...

Started at the pins at Markley Cove today at 6:15am, and it wasn’t long after that we had the first King to the boat. Because of the 25 – 30 mph winds, we had to limit our fishing to the narrows at Markley and to first baseline by the dam. Not bad results, for we were able to bring nine kings, one clean trout, and a three pound small mouth bass to the boat. The kings measured 15 to 21 ¾ inches long, the trout went 16 inches, and the bass was 15 inches long .

The top producer today was a blue RGT behind a Sep’s 3/0 chrome star light dodger and a white, and orange hoochie behind a Sep’s Gold star light dodger from 72 to 93 feet deep. Every lure was tipped with a sliver of anchovy and Pro Cure krill gel.

See ya out there and be safe. T-Roy

Very nice stringer of fish. *The wind was just brutal all weekend. *Any signs of any kokanee in that area? *Great report.

You're one tough fisherman. Those winds would keep me home. It does help to have a larger boat. ;D Nice stringer for the confined area you fished. I'll be headed to Bullards tomorrow and I hope not to have to deal with that kind of wind. See ya on the water.

Scott there were no kokes caught at the dam today but last week we found some out on the main lake. Sam the wind was burtal it does help to have a little bigger boat. Steve it sounds like you guys stayed out of the wind up there and caught some nice fish. What was big fish of the derby. T-ROY

The wind sucks it should lay down by this weekend, but then you have to deal with the skiiers. They're even worse.
