Went to Los Vaqueros’s Family Fishing Day. Spent the whole day soaking PB and power eggs and inflated nightcrawlers at the South Cove and only caught 3 trout. *What was frustrating was having a dozen other bites including some LDR’s and SDR’s. *In most cases, it seemed the fish would bite the end of the worm and pull my line a bit but wouldn’t bite the hook. *Most people fishing in the South Cove did not have much luck either. *One father son duo did catch more than two limits and gave some away *::)

early morning pic

my last catch of the day:

The grebe dove down and came up with my nightcrawler. *The hook went through the lower beak and I think it went through the tongue. I used my pliers to get the hook out. *It bled a little. *Hope the bird is okay :-/ * * *Any bird experts here? *Is this an eared grebe??? *thanks in advance.
