Hit Pinecrest last weekend with the family for a few days and Beardsley for one. *Banking it as rental boats don't go into Pinecrest until the 27th. *
Got 2 skinny 14"s at Pinecrest at the stream on powerbait. *While I was out there the day before a guy got a nice 20"er on powerbait while I was there in nice bright spawning colors. *I had one of a similar size chase my lure, a Panther Martin, right up to the shore. *Thing I made the mistake of slowing my retrieve, probably due to shock, and the fish backed off. * Other than that I only saw one other person get a small fish, and a guy off the dock got a couple. *
Went to Beardsley and banked it where the beach would normally be. *Got 3 on powerbait. *Nice fat 14-15"ers.
Both lakes were low, Beardsley was really low. *See photo's below:

Yep I was up at Beardsly and those are fat bow in there. The water really is low...you'd think it would be filling up? Seems like the low water would actually help the fishing. The trout are competing for fewer resources. Maybe they'll just keep biting?
Tight lines

I don't think the lakes will get any fuller this season. *I drove up 108 as far as I could and there ain't a lot of snow left to melt. *The photo I posted of Pinecrest is deceiving as it had just snowed for a couple hours before that photo was taken. *The wasn't any snow at all around the lake previously, and none on the nearby peaks. *
