View Full Version : BERRYESSA MONDAY 3 LIMITS BY 11:45

took the whaler out today with 2 friends on the water @ 8:30 and had 3 limits of kings by 11:45. We fished big island with blue cripplelures. Depth ranging from 38ft to 62ft. Solid king bite. largest fish was 19" and smallest kept was 15. We lost additional and threw back about 7-8 fish. The lake is really turning over. I even had bites on sling blade with a hoochie rig, just couldnt get them in the boat. Yesterday i caught a 3.5lb king behind my friends ski centurian by attaching a 1oz weight to the swivel and letting a lot of line out.

Hey Snappy. *

When using the cripple lure are you using a dodger too?

I'm heading to Berryessa on Tuesday. Will be on channel 69. I sure could use some more advice on getting the Kings. I tried for Koks last year and loved hooking into a stray King but wonder if I need certain technique for the kings?

What trolling speeds work best and I see that 35 to 60 feet is the depth.

Thanks for the help and PM me by 10 pm . ;)

I do with 8-10 inch leader

We used the same criplure with a small dodger. Worked fine. Also a hot lure for me was the blue/chrome speedy shiner/watermelon wildthing or an anchovie color axcel with red. Sounds like they're hitting mostly anything that wobbles.
