My dad was out monday and tuesday and said there have been tons of boats working out in front of the dam. He has been staying away from the crowds and fishing closer to folsom pt, and doing good. He is catching his 5 fish by 10:00 and taking off. The fish were in that same area on sunday also, there was a hot bite over the weekend. Excels ran naked are pretty much a gaurantee to catch fish.

That's too bad AllFish. Folsom can be... what am I talking about, Folsom is a tough lake. Seems like the only guys catching fish out there is No_Anchor and his Dad. I think the trick would be to go rub No_Anchor's boat for luck. ;D

The only thing I could think of was I was trollin too slow. I was in front of Folsom Pt. in 80-100 feet of water with a shad excel at 30 feet OTW. I tried everywhere from 20 to 50 feet and a variety of colors and lures, worms, and grubs. Man, some of those boats were really zoomin on the troll. It was a great morning to be out, but I think I'll leave Folsom off my list untill next winter or unless the kokes show up.

Maybe thats how my dad is cathing so many. About 2 months ago he rubbed his boat on mine and put a 5 foot gash down the side of it backing his boat into our boat garage. >:( *Now I have Klamath cooties on my North River.

I was out on Tuesday morning fishing by the dam and Folsom Point. Yes, there was a lot of boats trolling...the Jolly Hookers fishing club were out in force. They didn't have a lot to show for their effort from what I was told. As for me, I caught 2 kings between the point and the dam. They were found at 44 feet at 2.7mph on an Excel lure. Tried all sorts of lures, but they only hit on black/white combo. The bite was definately not hot!! Both kings were on the small side...13". From what I heard, the bite was better early. I didn't get started until 9:15 in the morning. Oh, well. ;)

SilverStreak, 2 fish... that's 50% better than what I've been doing. ;) Can't believe they would only hit the excels and not the usual gear we use. Thanks for the report.

Looks like we just need to put a big gash in No_Anchor's boat and where good to go. ;D

Folsom is very strange this year. The kings won't touch anything other than shad colored excels 15' to 30' behind the boat 30 to 40'down trolled at 1.8 to 2.0mph. Ihave not caught a fish on a dodger set up in atleast 3 months. Apexes were good for a while but now they wont even work.
