I know it is a little late posting, but here goes....

My bro and I went fishing on 10-10-06 at Lake Chabot. I heard from the reports on Norcalfishing that it was hot with limits of rainbow trouts. Rented a boat and got on the water a little after 7am and was done by 12am. We limited out on rainbows mainly all small planter sizes, but my bro caught one that weighed 3.5 pounds. The hot lure was a broken back rapala J9 in fire tiger color. I also caught a few on kastmasters: fire tiger and orange color. All on top about 50 to 75 feet behind the boat around the BIG Island, Burner and Racoon Point.

Here's a pic of our catch.

It was a very nice day and boat rental was only $20, since it was 50% off. Hopefully, it stays good for a while!!!

Until next time......

Thnx for the report. Nice catch. $20 for the boat was a pretty good deal. What I wouldn't give to fish on a weekday!

Anyone fishing from the shore with luck? Was the water temp cooling down from the past few weeks?

There were a few bankies out that day. I saw one guy reeling in a trout, but really did not pay attention to them. There were only a small handful of boats out that day :)

Not sure about the water temp. I believe the temp of the water is getting cooler and this is why they started planting Trout again.

I will be out there tomorrow with a fishing buddy. I will report when I get back. Hopefully, there is still a lot of Trout to be caught and maybe a few lunkers left in there ;)
