How's going guys! Going to try my luck at Emigrant Gap this weekend. I just need some suggestions for lure/bait selection for spin and fly gear. Appreciate the help Sniffers. :)

I used to fish those creeks a lot. Really small brown spinners worked well. Used to cut fire wood at Onion valley. I did have more luck in the NF of the NF then Oinon creek

Hey, Jim. I caught some real monster--the six inch type-- brookies. Caught 10 fish in about four hours of fishing. I have to find some deeper holes and pools down stream; hopefully, I can find bigger fish. But it was fun catching the little guys. I used yellow salmon eggs and a small panther martin.

You should try the Iowa Hill Bridge area in Colfax. *It has wild rainbows, browns, and brooks. *Right now the trout aren't hitting, but in the next month or two you can kill them on live crickets floated. *

If you like smallmouth bass fishing and don't mind hiking up and down the river, then you can get some VERY nice smallies.
