Here's a pic of the biggest rainbow caught out at Amador to date! *http://home.comcast.net/~dwojdac1/Pictures/Amador/BigRainbow.jpg
Had you going didn't we! *

Actually we had a slower than usual day putting 11 in the boat as Freon has mentioned in his post. *I did break off two. *I've found it's never a good idea to outfish the captain (unless it's Freon just kidding...) and I had to figure out a way to slow down. *Hoghunter did catch the two biggest of the day. *We've found that it's really tough fishing when the lake is glass flat all day. *Most of the time we like having a little ripple on the water. *Passed a few boats including the Rev. *Most reported one to two fish and one reported "I aint got none" then*Hoghunter kidded that must be was one of Freon's redneck buddies. *

Hoghunter has a few more pics and I'm sure he'll be posting later tonight. * Good luck if you guys go out this weekend. *Hope it rains as we caught more during the rain than on calm flat water. *Just have a nice top or some good raingear. *

Okay you got me!!!!

Did you look for the pot of gold in Doney Bay or in Rock Creek? :)

That is one awesone picture!!! Who says you can't catch something nice when its flat!

Dennis, I think this a good report for Amador given the other/past reports for the week. *Yesterday we heard alot of zip, nada, nothing coming from others trolling around. *The lake sounds like it is in the same condition as it was yesterday.......flat! *Thanks for the report and it's good to hear you did catch some fish. *I gotta say......you had me fooled! *I clicked on that thread link so fast my heart was pumping looking for a fat cutbow........??? *;) *

Yup, you got me too Dennis! GREAT SHOT though ... glad you posted it.

With Safeway sponsoring an employee outing at Amador I bet the ramp is going to look more like a 5pm check-out stand and the lake like a doorbuster sale. Think I'll wait for good weather next week.

Hmmmm..makes me hungry for some lucky charms. :D
Very nice pic. :)

I thought i was going to see the 10lbr! ;D Did you guys get any consistent action on an area? Were the fish scattered all over the place again? I'm sure glad i was out there wed.!

03-24-2006, 07:08 PM
nice picture!

03-24-2006, 07:12 PM
Lol, Dennis got me too. I was expecting to see a big 10lb or 12lb trout.

03-24-2006, 07:38 PM
I too got hooked Dennis. After reading the title then looking to see who posted, I was expecting to see you doing a pose. :-/

Very nice picture and great day fishing.

Freon was right in his earlier post. Dennis did give me a well deserved whipping today. I guess that comes under the heading "Even a Blind Hog roots up an acorn now and then". ;D

Seriously we had a great time even if the bite was off. Did spend a good part of the morning checking out some "virgin water" that may pay some dividends later in the year.

Now the pictures...

Looks like you had a good day to me!! I hope Dennis didn't teach the rev. some new words when that line busted!! ;D

I think I said the same thing the fish said when he ran into the cement wall. Dam! lol

03-24-2006, 08:24 PM
Thanks for making a girls night Dennis! 8-)

Seems like the lake has been like a light switch. On/off/on or maybe more like off/on/off.

11 is nothing to kick at when bites are tough to come by.

5 pounder on a 4 wt. had to be a kick.

Safeway employee outing? That is going to change my plans for this weekend.

Thanks for the heads up on that one Yak.

Another slow day at the lake. We put 8 in the boat. Used every thing in the tackle box, what worked best was a power mouse. Beautiful day until the rain came. Good to see the hog hunter. Hey did you notice I have my stars.

03-24-2006, 10:41 PM

03-24-2006, 10:42 PM

03-24-2006, 10:45 PM
Ah you didn't want to drive all the way up there Kokaneemart got into the salmon "reel" good at Folsom

03-25-2006, 05:54 AM
You probably missed another 20 because*there was probably a whole lot of jawing and busting each others coconuts. * ;) *Welp, I'm glad your leaving some for me on Sunday. *Thanks for the report.

03-25-2006, 05:59 AM
Great report guys and as Troutcoach said, thanks for leaving me some for sunday :D

03-25-2006, 07:33 AM
Let us know where they're hitting on Sunday. I'm probably headed back on Monday.... Only a few days left and I'm, once again, a weekend warrior... O noooooo.....

03-25-2006, 09:00 AM
HH3- What??...are you going back to work to pay for your habit?? :'(

03-25-2006, 09:49 AM
I too fell for the title line. Glad to see the 10 lber is still swimming out there. Guess I just have to get the Irish into the boat on Sunday and beat Freon to it....
The bigger the fish the louder he barks.

03-25-2006, 09:54 AM
I though I would try to post some pictures from yesterdays fishing trip to Amador. We had good fish but it was slow.

03-25-2006, 10:16 AM
nice job dennis both of you caught some quality fish.

03-25-2006, 10:32 AM
Troutcoach, Yep got an offer from the company I retired from that I just couldn't refuse. Back at it on the 1st. (April Fools Day, is that appropriate or what?)

(April Fools Day, is that appropriate or what?)

Maybe they're playing a joke on you. * ::)
Well I guess the money must be real good because I've got the feeling that you didn't go back out of boredom. *I guess this also means that you won't be tormenting poor Freon with your midweek fishing reports. * ;)

Freon has the first week in April off so guess who's going to be getting daily fishing reports? ;D

HH3 I'm sure everyone in the office is going to love hearing about the fishing at Amador, just don't show them a picture of Freon. *;D ;D *I'll look forward to seeing you and Anna in that new boat when you once again retire *;) *

I see someone making up leaders?? *Is that a hint or what?? *;D ;D *I think Partner and I might be out tomorrow.
