Fished Topaz a couple weeks ago. CD9 and F13"s seemed to be the ticket. Bright colors' Clown or Orange. Caught most of the fish down the middle of the lake. I've also been targeting the big One f18 rianbow. I know their is some big browns and rainbows in the lake. No big one yet. Good luck!

Everything I've seen and heard agrees with Fishmagnet. The fish are out toward the middle which gives a distinct advantage to boats. *It seems that shore fishing has slowed down a little and from my experience won't pick up much until March.

Shore fishing has slowed down more than alot, water level keeps rising too, from 10 days ago seems like water came up at least 16''

Yeah I have never seen the lake so full this time of year. *That is good for the summer though. *From here on in the warmer it gets the better Topaz will be. *I do think it's going to be a very good year for nice hold-overs! ;) ;D
Sorry for the semi-hijack. The Raps that fishmagnet recommended are great but don't forget the flashers and worms.

We rented a boat today and I caught three in seven hours, it was really slow! *I think I'll do it off the bank tomorrow! ;)

Sounds to me that you guys did not have ALL your ABC"S together.? I have not had that much of a problem with catching fish at Topaz.

Rapala's, Blades & worms usually get results. However there are 3 more ways to catch trout while trolling; maybe you will get to fish with me some time ?

Thinking of going Wen or Thur * 47/26 & 49/26, weather looks pretty good. *

Might pick up two "strays" on the way.....have yet to get a reply from them.

Ed (one stray just got run over )

Nobody was catching too much this past weekend. The moon and the barometer and the cold temperatures all contributed to the slow weekend. That's fishing. ;)

Going Sat 28, will be on the water at 9am ?
Will pick up someone in Carson & head out.

Will advise how the "winter" start came out for the old pharts. Might be C&R unless pardners icebox is empty.

Later Ed

Thats what I told somebody. 20-30mph might be a little strong? How about Sunday? He agreed ! Should only be 10-15mph, no problem with my 17ft bayliner (tan) & 70 merc.....2004 Jeep (silver).... in case you are there.

Room for 3 if you like to join us.

Will be at carson at 8 and on the water by 9? c/o the 1st ramp near the lodge, not the park.

With the S/W wind, maybe the ne area will have lots of bait ? Later Ed

Yes sir boss man, sure did. Did not feel like taking my boat surfing, called my buddy up and we will try Sunday.

Sat. went to the "Sportsman" and got some "Spectra" Power Pro in 8# (eq dia 2 ) This stuff is even thinner than "Fireline". Can't wait to give it a try! Just wounder how much deeper my tolls will go ?

Thanks for the heads up....Ed
