Adding lead to increase a fish' weight is only illegal in tournaments.

and its not a lie, if you believe it.

11-18-2005, 03:18 PM
Isn't releading a fish un-healthy though, or is that kinda like Viagra re-leading your pencil?? I guess I'll have to ask Mickey.

gettin in trouble again

11-18-2005, 04:06 PM
BITE ME II, I don't take it, don't need it ;) ;D I heard it's only for short guys anyway ;D ;D Trout_Chaser, Chick usually only has a portable VHF, you will never hear her ;) Your North River is made for Pyramid, catch a few for me since I won't be there. Killing Turkeys tomorrow ::)

11-18-2005, 04:14 PM
Bite_Me_II and I will be out there tomorrow. Maybe even Cheesehead to if he can stop thinking about politics long enough to actually go fishing.

11-18-2005, 05:52 PM
In that case Doc ignore my PM ;)

11-18-2005, 06:18 PM
Hi Guys,
We were on the water by 730 I caught 3 Brian 4 in 160 ft of water down 25-40 ft fished from the dock down to warrior I had a chance to meet Trout chaser as he was passing by nice north river he's by himself and said if anyone needs a ride to let him know he should be on the dock around 630 he caught a few fish I did talk to Big Country on the radio never did see him he was down by separator had caught 4 pretty slow real cold in the morning and a little ruff till around 11:30 then it was real nice.
We talked to George one of the charters and he said he's been pulling in around 10 fish a day. We caught are's on lyman, flatfish, apex colors blue, pink, green, yellow with black dots they were all hand painted by Rugman,
Hey Doc he has a special lure for you for the big browns.
See you guys on the water

11-18-2005, 06:51 PM
Good report Chick, maybe you'll hook a big one tomorrow ;D You should have hit the east side and bounced the beach at Anderson Bay, that's where we caught all our bigger ones last week. Sharp turns were the key, not "S" turns "U" turns ;)

11-18-2005, 07:44 PM
Hay CheeseHead,sweetheart baby;
I don't have to add lead or water or step on them or nuthn to my fish. Hay !! I already have the bigest fish logged in at Crosby's. (Nov 13th 11# 8oz) A 26" fish does not mean a thing to me! I'm looking for that 32" plus baby !!
I have missed two 15 pound plus fish , and I want to settle the score !! The 1st was at popcorn & the 2nd was at warrior's. The one at popcorn spooled my fly reel, the one at Warriors, took my fly at the last second, no hook set possible!! "THINK POSSITIVE!! "

11-18-2005, 07:52 PM
That sounded almost arrogant ;D!

11-18-2005, 07:56 PM
I think you mean "Think Positive", Ed. ;)

Releaded = Released? ???

We only fish with good spellers. ;D

11-18-2005, 08:36 PM
Looks like things are heating up over there at Pyramid.:D

11-18-2005, 08:46 PM
Oh Yeah! ;D

Frank, you an Duane should make it over here some weekend. No need to bring a boat. There are lots of empty seats.

11-18-2005, 09:26 PM
We've been giving it serious thought, Doc. But the first window I see for us to come to Pyramid is the second weekend in December. The third weekend in December I promised IT I would try to help keep Sturgeon Stomper and his crowd subdued during the second Sturgeon Fest down at Brannon Island. What a joke! :D ;D SS, 916, and Sunracer are incorrigible. 8)

If things look good at Pyramid the second weekend in December we may need to come up there and breath some fresh air before we tackle the sturgeon guys. ;)

11-20-2005, 12:12 AM
What a beautiful day it was today got a late start Al needed his beauty rest ;D I think we got on the water around 8:15 headed over to the pyramid only caught 2 each lost 2 caught mine on the pink and silver with glitter lyman not for sure what Brian was using headed back to Worriers didn't get a bite pulled up and went down to separator we kept hearing Al talking about all the fish that he and Manuel was catching not one bite so we called it a day. You couldn't ask for a better day as far as the weather temp of water on the west side was 55 east side 54.
Hey Doc see how nice I was I didn't throw you off the dock,
Trout Chaser hope you got home OK your boat sure looked nice crossing the lake let me know if you need someone to fish with.
FB said Randy caught 1 lost 3 and he didn't even have a bite
Hey FB thanks for buying that second down rigger now maybe I wont get another black eye ;)
I'm going to try block house Sun afternoon hopefully I'll do better than today.
Rugman,Al,Manuel once again I had a great time thanks so much for letting me tag along see you guys soon :-*

Mr Ed ,
Sorry I didn't get a chance to say hi this morning I didn't see your name on the catch of the week I know if it was my fish I would want my 10lb pin ::)

11-20-2005, 06:03 AM
Hey everybody,
My experience..pretty slow. Pulled in one Fri. morning, one hit during the day, and then two pretty nice release fish on Fri. afternoon about an hour before dark. One really beautiful football shaped male. Right at 24" and over 4 lbs.
Sat.--about the same, 3 to the boat and one self released.

Good to see you out there Chick. It was fun to here all you guys on the radio. Doc and Ken tore it up pretty good in the morning and Al seemed to have the hot hand in the afternoon. I would have liked to stay longer but as it was I didn't get home until after 7:00.
Well it was fun, now I'm off to work. See you all next time.

11-20-2005, 09:12 AM
Ken and I caught 7 fish at Red Bay from about 7:30 - 8:30. 6 were on a jointed rainbow Rapala and 1 on a frog Apex. After that it really shut down. We eventually picked up 6 more at the north end on Lyman's. All were caught 10-15 ft down. We had to work hard for fish. Despite the perfect water temperature the fish were very lethargic. In fact we wasted a lot of time towing fish around that did not pop the down rigger clip. For some reason the fish were not in close at the beaches. All of the fish we caught were either suspended or in close to structure over deeper water. Did anybody fish from shore yesterday? It would be interesting to hear how the bankies made out. Sometimes when it's slow like yesterday the fish are in REALLY close to shore and you miss them from boats. It was probably just a slow day. Things will pick up again as they always do.

It was nice to see all the sniffers out there yesterday. Nice to meet you Mr. Ed. You're not nearly as snarfy in person as you are on the boards. ;) Chick, I have to tell you that I had a moment of terror when you held my boat and I stepped off onto the dock. I thought for sure that I was going to get wet. ;D Beautiful boat Trout_Chaser! Quite a step up from your old one. Good seeing Rugman, Al, Manuel, and Big Country out on the water.

Anyone fishing Pyramid should alway tune it to VHF Channel 69 to see if "Chick Talk Radio" is playing. It's alway a hoot!

11-20-2005, 03:56 PM
i am i will be going on friday and saturday of the thanksgiving weekend

11-20-2005, 05:42 PM
Just back from the lake. I managed 4 in 3 hrs. all were caught at the Kitchen in at 10-15ft. Speed was 1.9kts. Saw Gradiator and Big Country. What a great day to be on the water.

11-20-2005, 09:00 PM
Hi everybody -- we had a great three days up at the lake. Weather was beautiful, fishing was just so-so. It's good to know Pyramid doesn't easily crank out 30+ fish each and every time. We ended up catching and releasing fifteen over the three days. Three of us were in the Grady 192 -- my twin sons Ryan and Tyler were with me. We were up there with my old college roommate Bill and his three sons. He has a Grady 208 (he's the Gradiator)...

We worked both the east and west sides, from the Nets to Warrior Pt and from the Pyramid to Fox Bay, and had sporadic action everywhere we went. We used Apex, Sting Kings, Lymans -- chartruese and watermelon were most consistent. Fished in shallow and out in deeper water, both on the wire and toplined.

Really enjoyed "Chick Radio" on Friday and Saturday -- also good to see Doc and Bite Me II out Saturday. Radio was real quiet today, good chatting with Desert Dog.

The ranger was checking licenses today at the ramp. One guy with a couple of young kids was being cited for possessing a slot fish. Anyone know what the fine is for that? I think it was a little girl's first fish...

See you on the water...

Fished from shore Sunday. My puny five wt. doesn't cast a large streamer very far but managed one on a cinnamon wolly bugger. Switched to spinning gear and managed three others with frog pattern spoon. Nothing of bragging size for this lake just your typical Pyramid Cutthroat. I was fishing off of seperator beach. I noticed a fellow ladder fishing, looks silly but I am sure it is effective. Does anyone know if there are special ladders for this purpose? The one he was using did not look like your typical Home Depot purchase.

11-21-2005, 07:39 AM
Check out the ladder they have for sale at Crosby's. *It is pretty slick.
