View Full Version : Mama at Silver 9/24

Well, I took Chief's advice and ended up at Silver Lake on Saturday. Got in the water at about 8:30am and didn't get out until just after 7pm. Wind whipped up a little and blew my float tube off my intended path a few times, but I managed to catch four rainbows. Kept three (12-14 inch size), threw back a small one to gain some more weight. The winning ticket seemed to be flourescent red powerbait behind half a crawler, kind of like a modified form of Freon's powermouse. I also caught a keeper on a silver/blue Kastmaster tipped with the fl.red PB.

It was actually refreshing to have to wear a windbreaker all day...I'm glad I thought to bring it since I've been fishing in warmer temps lately. Now I'm getting excited about the upcoming closing days at Pardee now that the cooler temps are getting here. Also interested in hearing from fellow Sniffers who worked Caples Lake over the weekend. :)

Glad to hear you got into some fish Mama, way to go! I agree with FF though, 10.5 hrs in a tube seems like a long time! Still feel the burn? ;)

Thanks for reporting.
