Does anyone have info on how to fish either of these lakes from a boat? Downriggers, toplining, etc...? How about any recent fishing reports from either?

Thanks,
Steve

Give Ebbetts Pass Sporting Goods a call at 209.795.1686 in Arnold, and they will give you the latest on Alpine. There should still be some big fish left over from the trout derby a couple of weeks ago.

Have not been to Alpine in a couple of years .
But did good with 3 to 4 " silver / black Rapalas .
I was running at 15 ' on the downrigger .
The lake is shallow and small .
Also used dodger / nightcrawler setup on top .
Also productive .
I was hunting for bigger fish with the Rapalas .
Alot of small planters in there also .
People use very small needlefish and such for them .

;)

Enjoy !
My Sister and Brotherinlaw will be there this weekend .

For Pinecrest I have had the most luck soaking bait right by the dam or the mouth of the inlet. The dam is the top producer and I've been going there for 40 years. Just soak powerbait. Also the swim areas are good if you can get out there before the wardens wake up.

You can also try trollin just a red wedding ring w/no dodger or anythig ecept a threaded crawler, but this time of year make sure you get it 10-20 ft down....

did not say in the last post-the method works for either(or any)high country lakes as long as you troll off points towards coves or spillways, goodluck 8)
