Pink Boat and I are going to UVR tomorrow morning and will be launching his blue boat at Sunset. If your going to be out there tomorrow morning give us a holler on channel 69, or swing by and say hi. We'll be fishing for kokes and bows, and maybe drop something deep for a passing Mack. We'll be on the water about 5:30 and off by noon. Probably spend most of our time in the Jones Fork and Sunset point areas.

Hey frank, if I would have known a few days ago I would have posted for a hitchiker on my big boat or came up solo on my small boat so you could teach me how to catch those kokes and bows at UVR, I have no experience there. Give me a heads up next time, I'm always up to learning something new! ;D

It was one of those quick decisions-over-a-beer fishing trips Oxbow. It's a short hop for us; 45 miles over the pass and one stop sign used for target practice. Truth be known we'll be using hootchies. I've got them in every color since fishing with you at Melones. 8)

Yaaawn.... Why do fishing trips sound like such a great idea the night before and a lousy idea at 3 in the morning??

See you on the radio FishCrazed... We should be there by 5:15.

Can anyone provide any info on the best way to get to UVR, and which ramp to launch from. I live in the LIncoln area. Thanks

Highway fifty through Pollock Pines, left onto Ice House road then follow the signs.

Wentfishen, For you the best way would be to go thru Georgetown. Turn left at the 4way stop in downtown Georgetown and follow the signs. From my house here in Penryn I get there in just about a hour and a half. I`m sure someone will chime in with alittle more detail for you.

When you turn left at the stop sign you'll be on Main St. Main St. ends up being Wentworth Springs Rd. and it passes Stumpy Meadows, after you pass Stumpy it's 14 miles to Ice House Rd. go right on Ice House Rd. and turn right when you see Sunset Campgrounds, there will be signs to the launch ramp.

Fishguts, if you are coming from Antioch, I think you have the right directions.

FF, where's your report? ::) did you run into Fish Crazed?

07-18-2005, 09:19 AM
Yeah we ran into eachother at the dock. I wasn't sleeping well so I left at about 4am. I got to the Sunset ramp at about 4:40 and still very dark so I laid back for a few. When I woke it was lighter than I wanted and Frank was behind me. After getting the boat ready and saying Hi! I launched.

Frank and Pink Boat said they would try the Sunset area first so I ran to the Dam where I had luck in recent weeks.

Frank and Pink Boat had fish on the Blue boat quickly with them Hoochies. I had one bite all day, top line, weddingring behind dodger tipped with a worm. 12" bow.

I ran over to where Frank & Co were havin all the luck and still no bites. I left about 8:30. Frank was still on the water. I know they had a few but I'll let Frank tell it...

Great morning good weather. Sure makes a difference at that elevation.
