Day 2 Pyramid fest
We heading up to Pyramid for the Day to attend the fest. Started fishing around 8am. Started trolling around pelican point Headed north up to mushroom where we heards some okay reports. The wind was kind of up and coming from the north, which made for a bumpy troll. Weather reports where supposed to be from the west.
Well we stay in the 50 to 100 ft of water, otw from 10ft to 30 ft marked some fish here and there, Fished in close to shore due to the wind at times, switch lures dodged the boat traffic, for nothing. Finally the wind switch to the northwest and allowed us to get out a little deeper water 150ft to 200 ft. Within a 1/2 hour the bite was on, marked alot of fish from 10' down to 100', We pulled 20 fish out in 5 hours 7 in the last hour. 19 fish ranged from 17" to 19 1/4" the biggest was 22 3/4". We kept 4, released 16.
OTW 16' to 23' with red spoons black dots and speedy shiner red, and misc lure jensen lures.
It was a great day out there, the chatter on the radio, was hallarious at time and very entertaining. It was great to see some old friends and met some new ones. Here are some pics.

I agree the radio chatter was funny to say the least, kinda like being on the boards. Nice pic's with a shot of the road warrior gang on the beach. Been a good time for all and the pot luck was the best. Bombfire was a great gathering on Sat nite as well. Pyramid is still open till the 30th of June for trout don't miss any opportunities:a-fish:.......Jetspray

Those are guard pelicans looking for your catch to surface so they can get it. They also like to attack cormorants for theirs too (they have to surface to swallow their catch)......Jetspray

1 year up at Burney, I was fishing at Baum Lake and as I was reeling in a Pelican started to dive down towards my fish. Did a quick horse in and got the trout. It was crazy to see Pelicans that far inland. Never new before that there was another species that stayed around fresh water.
