Ended up getting to South Lake late Friday night and Harvey's had my name on it.. Ended up not sleeping much but started our venture at 5 am and 21 Degree's..

Started down the 89 to hope that Caples would have fishable water and found a huge block of ice .http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/shawnchandler/64957a8b.jpg
So we continued down the 88 and found Silver to be the same . http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/shawnchandler/d0a1cbfd.jpg
After we found that the lake's were completely frozen we turned around and drove twords ICR. My first time there and I thought it was so cool that you can drive your car right up to the lake.

The guy to my left was tearing it up and catching them left and right but I got nothing. My buddy got two bites but nothing to stick. Little did we know that was the only action we would see for the day. Besides the guy that was next to us we saw no one catch fish. Left ICR around noon and headed down the street to the Carson River Bridge. First arrived and saw a guy catch a fish using a fly but he said that was the only thing he had gottin all day. We hiked around for about 3 hours for nada.. :( Tried throwing the tackle box at em but didn't even get a hit. Took some nice pics though.

After Fishing ICR and The Carson we headed back tword South Lake to give Cave Rock a try. We floated worm's injected with Pro Cure Garlic and on the other pole we had Power eggs. We had no luck in the 4 hour we fished there.

Kinda crappy that we fished for 13 hours and all we got was 2 bites and no Sierra fish..
Woke up the next morning and started the drive back over the 50 tword Ice House.

Arrived at 9 and the fish were jumping ;D ;D. Got a pole with Rainbow glitter egg's and one with a kastmaster. Got no hit's on the lure but as I was coming back from the bathroom my buddy yelled for me that I had a fish on :D.. I ran and grabbed my pole and started reeling.. Fish fought for about 2 minute's when all of a sudden he was gone. :( Dipped my egg's in garlic and within minutes of throwing it back out there FISH ON!! Wasn't about to let this one get away so I got him in quick to find a 8inch Rainbow hooked in the lip... Got him back in the water safely and was so excited about my first Sierra Fish :).. Then about 10 minutes later on the same setup another Fish.. This time a 10incher that was a bleeder.. So I had to keep him. My buddy ended up catching one more that was also a bleeder so at least we had a meal.. We hung out till about 12 and after no more bites decided to pack it up and get some lunch.. Stopped in Pollock Pines for some taco bell and El Dorado Forebay.

Fished Till 3 for no bite's so we packed it up and headed back to the Bay. So for the weekend we fished 5 different places for 5 bite's and 3 fish. Not what I hoped for but was still nice to get away. Will be heading back up that way to have my revenge on Caple's, Silver and Red.. Till next time.

Fish On,
Chef

Cool picts. Chef, too bad the fishing was not hot. But, still sounds like you had a good time. Did you have better luck on the tables then in the water?

It was alot of fun. The only bummer is that the lakes started to melt the following week.. I will be up there again soon to try them out and not loose my tail at the casino's..
