Fished fishermen's row next to the boat launch from 0500-0800. Caught 2 by 0545. Then the bite started happening to the angler to my right and he caught 3 by 0630. After 0630 the bite died down until 0730 when the angler to my left got a double hook up. After he re-baited and casted out he caught 2 more before I left by 0800. All fish were between 1-1.5 pounds and gave good fights. The fish were biting on white PE/PW combo or chartreuse PB. Until next time FISH ON!

how far do you usually cast out?

Cast out as far as you can! Maybe around 35-50 feet out I'm guessing. I use a 3/4oz weight. Good luck!

I've only been to Quarry twice since I've started fishing. Both times no luck at all. See others catching fish but just not me. This lake does not like me one bit at all. However, I will give it 1 more shot in the coming weeks. I've never been to any place 3 times and skunk out. I hope it's not strike 3 ... :nunu5pn:

Hey Matt, glad you were able to land a few this morning. Sounds like people around you were doing well also. I plan on hitting Quarry up on Friday, since Jenny is off. I hope the bite is still good. Thanks for the report and hope to catch up with you sometime.

So its possible to fish at Quarry around 0500? Where did you park, and did you need the green tags they usually give ya at the entrance?

GammaRei~ curfew hours at Quarry is 10pm-5am. So you can walk-in at 0500 since the parking lot does not open until 0600. I park at the residential houses (Isherwood/Harrisburg streets) and bike into the lake. I have an annual permit but you can fill out a daily permit (RED envelope) which is available in a metal post near the kiosk booth. Fill out that red envelope and put your money in it. Tear off the tab which is your permit and drop off the envelope in that same metal box. FISH ON!
