Any of you guy have one of these? How are they? Is this the same one as a Lowrance 520c but in Eagle version?

Thanks,

I have heard so so so many stories about Lowrance/Eagle relationships that I can't say for sure. I've heard that one Eagle model was last years Lowrance model, and I've heard that Eagle is simply Lowrance's low end gear. I have a 640C DF on the houseboat and have had problem after problem with transducers. When it works, it's great. But it may not work next season. The other downside to Eagle is I'm not sure if you will have any product support (warranty/parts availability/repair) in the near future.

Sorry for the gloom,
Edd

So the only problme you have with it is just the tranducers? If so I can deal with that since its really a good deal, $370 for a Color GPS Combo.

That about wraps it up. The ducer was our only problem.....2 in three years. Mind you that this unit, while not in direct sunlight, is locked up tight inside the houseboat when it's 100* outside. It has worked flawlessly.

Anyone using any lowrance sonar should look into upgrading to the Airmar P66 transducer.
It has ceramic encasement of the sensor element instead of plastic..and is by far many times more sensitive.
It has a 45 degree 50k cone..and 11 degree 200K cone. At 100' depth that will give you excellent coverage of 83' in 50K and 21' in 200 K

I have the Lowrance X65 with a HS-WSBK- wide angle ducer and a ST-TBK speed temp sensor -- would going to the ceramic set up improve my x65? Is the ceramic costly?
