Fished stumpy today, froze my butt off. Trolled from 8 to 12-30 got a few bumps but no takers. Ice on the surface in the back near pilot creek and the leadcore was freezing to the guides. Alot of snow on the road but no problem with a 4wheel drive. Any advice on getting them to bite?

Very small spoons in silver, gold and frog patterns should work. Trolling flies and small dark colored grubs, frog green, black and pumkin seed, 2 inch work well also. Most of the fish will be on the surface so leave the leadcore home and no need for flashers or dodgers. 4 lb. test on an ultralite rod w/ a small weight with a 3 to 5 ft. leader is all that should be needed this time of year. Stay close to shore and work the points. This is for the rainbows. If your chasing browns, the usual methods should work. Thanks for the report,
