We have had several weeks of near spring like weather with no snow in Western Nevada. Perhaps some of the local spots that are usually locked by ice and snow have opened up. Last Thursday (1/20) I took an afternoon trip to Indian Creek Res. (ICR) to check it out. The dirt road up to the lake was free of snow and only slightly muddy. Arrived at the lake at 1300 to find it completely covered with ice. Fast forward to Thursday afternoon of this week. The weather had remained nice so I decided to take another look. To my surprise and delight the ice was gone. I fished the lake for a couple of hours having a couple of half hearted bites on Gulp and an LDR on a Kastmaster. Left the lake at 1500 vowing to come back early on Friday morning to give it another try. Arrived with Jetspray at 0715 at the east corner of the dam. The sky was clear with temps in the low to mid 20s and a 5 to 15 MPH wind out of the south. We fished with Green Gulp, Worms and Kastmasters until noon and managed only one fish between us. :( However it was one that counted. :) Shortly after 0800 my small 4# outfit gets a strong bite on the green Gulp. I set the hook on what is a strong fish. After a protracted battle Dave nets a nice 24" 7# ICR holdover bow. This is not only my PB from ICR but my PB on bait. Shortly before leaving Jim, one of the CV locals, arrives where he wants to try out two new rods. Nice seeing you again Jim. Dave thanks for coming with me today and thanks for the net job and fine pictures. If the weather holds we will hit this place again soon. A wonderful day.

Fished the E. Walker below Bridgeport a couple of weeks ago. Man was it cold. Too much snow to get down to the glory hole. Are you fishing at the Ranch? Pyramid next week.
