Seon and I decided to give salmon another try, with a favorable weather forecast, we decided to go out side the gate rather than the river. We meet up at out normal place at 0330, and headed to Berkley where we picked up Ĺ scoop of good quality anchovies. Out the gate we went, a little fogy but not to bad. Made a right turn at Pt. Bonita and headed toward Mure area but stopped early after seeing some nice bait balls. With in a few minutes my line pops off the D/R clip, I get the salmon close to the boat he seeís us, we see him and just then it spitís the hook. After about an hour with out another hit we pull our lines and head to Rocky Pt., a lot of bait in that area. Seon gets the first hit and itís fish on, after a nice fight itís going like a torpedo across the back of the boat, that when I noticed I had one also, I had the net in hand, Seonís fish makes a hard run toward the ft. of boat, turns and comes back fast I try to net it, but I miss the second time it makes a run at the side of the boat and it spitís the hook (DAM) it was a nice fish. (I felt bad about missing that fish).
I get mine to the boat and Seon doesnít miss, first one in the box. A long story short, we got our 4 in the box all cookie cutter 7 pound salmon, we had a total of 9 fish on , a lot of bait in that area, FAC water

We did have a couple hitch hikers, two little tree frogs

We pulled the plug around 4:30; fog was coming through the gate

We cleaned the fish, washed the boat down, then he long ride home. A long but rewarding day, trying something new, with a good friend. Thanks again Seon!

...We cleaned the fish, ...

Al gilled and gutted his 1st catch but quickly decided it was too messy so we waited until we got back on shore to fillet them. Thanks for your company Al.

BTW Anyone interested in "Buddy Boating" out for Salmon? It'll have to be during the week and with the winds down.
If so, send me a pm and we can also split a 1/2 scoop of Chovies because that's just too much for two fishermen to use in one day.

This is the view we had all day.

BTW, I didnít mention that we were using clear RSK, with no flasher, Ft. Bragger custom made hoochie w/flasher at 30 to 40 ft OTW around 60ft. Of h2o. Both rsk and hoochie got hit the same for us. We tried for some rock cod but were not sure where to fish for them. The only luck with that was a bullhead (go figure)
