It's 0630. The radio is playing loud and I'm "Free Falling" with Top Petty. I've filled up at both the AM/PM and at Sharkey's, I'm 64 years old today, feeling good and I'm ready for a little walk.

Arrived at Heenan Res. at 0710 and walked the mile or so down to the hatchery. Wasn't expecting all that much due to the excessive amount of weeds. Found a spot off a point and started throwing stuff. It's not like there weren't any trout about. They were actively feeding on the surface about 20 feet further then I could cast. Couldn't get any action. I did see one guy in a tube get one. The lake was high and in good shape. Perhaps by the end of the month a shore guy has a chance. Headed back down through Markleeville and decided I didn't want a skunk on my birthday so I headed up to the White Bridge on the W. Carson. There was a crowd here :( however a good % were members. :) Mariahpup and Marinpaul were there. Also another member, MonteV, was there. All were having a good time partaking in the bounty of the DFG trout truck. I managed 7 small guys. There were a few of the larger guys still around and Paul managed to get one in the 3 - 4# class. I would have stayed around longer but I fell into the river. :-[ So I went home and took a nap. After all I am 64. Bill, Paul it was nice fishing with you as always. Next time there may be some more big guys. Monte it was nice seeing you again. Hope to see you at the P-Fest next month.
