Well scratch one more from the bucket list.
Seon and I decided to give Bodega Bay a try. With some good information (thanks CJ) we headed out Monday morning at the crack of dawn, about a 3 hour drive with Seonís Motor Home, and boat in tow, with some bait we got at a local bait shop. After setting up camp we decided to wet our lines. Launched the boat, went around Bodega head and went north to give Salmon a shot, but with bagged bait we didnít do so well. Seon gave a shout out to CJ to let him know we were going to change to rock cod, CJ decided to show us a good area to target the rock cod up north a ďfewĒ miles. With the fast drift it was difficult for a couple green horns to do any thing but get hung up, but we did manage a few quality fish. We decided to call it a day. Cleaned the fish and tried to find some good tray bait, but every thing was closed. A good hearted person at the cleaning station gave us an open tray of herring (it had 3 herring in it) weíll take it.
The next day we head out early to give Salmon another go. Seon gets hooked up rite of the bat with a nice 6 pound salmon, with a couple scratched baits, and bagged left we went to bird rock to try for Lings.
Water was calm with a nice drift, we got our limits of lings and caught a bunch of (I called) bullheads up to about a foot long. Those were tossed back.

We went in early to get bait and some fuel before the closed.
Wednesday out early again, a little bumpy out there, but we had some good bait and decent reports. Headed north again and dropped our lines in. after some time I get hooked up with the first Salmon, after a good fight, and Seons net job one in the boat.

28 pounds, Iím a happy camper now. We worked the same area

Seon was snake bit, he had hit after hit, popping the clip but they just wouldnít stick
I then get my second fish, about 6 pounds. After some I get this hit it popped the clip going toward the front of the boat, I had a hard time getting my rod out on the holder, this thing was making 50 yard runs at a time with Seon trying to keep up with it, but with my Salmon gear I didnít stand a chance. After about Ĺ hour to 45 minutes it pulled the hook out. I was relieved, Seon and I think it was a big shark
It was a good fishing trip with a great friend, thanks again Bro!
