View Full Version : Amador Saturday 11/26

Hit the water with lines in about 6:45 am, 2 of us in the boat. The first fish came about 45 minutes later, it was not a wide open bite but it was steady. My partner put number 5 in the boat about 10:00 and my fifth came at 11:00. We used a variety of lures with nothing standing out as better than another. White grub behind a dodger, numerous hits 3 hooked 1 landed, Fire Tiger was good for 6 fish, silver and black Rapala for 3, gold and black Rapala for 1, the Rapalas were either a 7 or 9 with the 9 getting the most action. All the fish were strong fighters, just like the good ol' days at Amador, no aerial displays while hooked but, when you got them within 10 feet of the boat they went wild. All 10 fish ran between 2.5 and 4 pounds. Not a bad day fishing, matter of fact this one is going to be remembered for a long time. While I would not call it "Slamador" yet, it is starting to look that it will be before long. The derby started this weekend and will run to late March, $5.00 fee to enter, they put 50 tagged fish in on Friday so there are some in the water ready and waiting.
