Always want to get the first skunk and todays trip to Topaz west shore didn't disappoint.

On Tuesday took a brief look at ICR. The ice is starting to melt. Maybe next week if the warm weather holds. Stopped for breakfast at Sharkey's then down to Topaz. Fished the West shore below the bug station. Got lots of nibbles and had 2 SDR's but didn't get one to the shore. It was a beautiful morning. Temperatures were warm for this time of year and the lake glass. When I left there were 10 other folks fishing. Over all I saw only 3 fish caught. All small. Think we need a little weather to shake things up. It was a wonderful day.

What's happenin' Captain. I was there opening day and didnt catch a single fish. even got to troll from a kayak but still not even a nibble. I usually pull out some big ones from the mouth of the canal, but not a single fish there either. not to mention, block house has been slow lately as well.

It is kind of disappointing. Some tagged fish in the 1 - 2 # class comming out and small stockers but very few holdovers. Went back there today with Jetspray and we fished for 5 hours for one dink. The water is very cold. Maybe when it warms up a little.
