Had the boat in the water about 0725-0730 going solo. Started setting my lines right past the first sets of bouys 50ft or so from the docks. Only set out about 75-100ft since there were quite a few boats leaving. Barely get the second pole set and the first goes down. Dang a snag already??????? NOOOOOOOO a fish WTH. I guess drinking a big glass of "Skunk Be Gone" paid off this morning! Sad thing was I would have been embaressed to have brought that fish in so back it went. Poor thing would have broke the camera. No fins and only about 12".
It was comical to see the rest of the boats that were still in the 5mph zone not bothering to set their rods, all of a sudden start scrambling for to get their rods in the water.......

Going in front of the opening to houseboat cove I looked up and thought of the pics (I think Robbie posted) with the lines making a X, and in the sky saw an X vapor trail:

Ok, so I thought ehhhhhh, I got lucky for once. Must have been a wayward fish. Then in between Horse Island and the Narrows, fish on. Didn't take a pic out of the water though.

About a hour later in Lancha Plana:

Nice 16"+ fish, gill plates were nice and red, can't see in the pic though.

After this the wind picked up and nothing else.

What worked:
F-7 Firetiger for 3 fish
All toplined
About 1.3-1.5 by the eyeball
PC Gel Krill Oil scent
Set Backs about 200'

Zero fish on:
Pink or Orange Grubs
Pink or Orange Spoons

Today must have been a wide open day for everyone if I caught fish!

Thanks for the post and pics AP....
You can tell DFG planted out there a few weeks ago. I caught 2 of those little dinks last time out. Those poor little things... But hey, they're fish and they will grow up some day.

Don't get the horse to far in front of the cart :teaseku9: If I catch fish next time, then you might be on to something :)

I can't tell you much. I did see a few nets moving around, never noticed anything in them though. I did see a husband and wife at the cleaning station, when I was leaving, so they must have caught some. When I left around 3pm there were still alot of trailers left in the lot. I was hoping to see another report or two...........
