Well the experiment is over. >:( Recently I've switched from the gold triple hooks to the wire triple hooks. The advantage to me seemed to be that they were lighter and less bait was needed to float and they were cheaper. With Gulp I usually manage to hook 50% or above using gold hooks. But with the wire hooks the ratio is less than 20%. Those I do get to the shore the hook falls out. Today I got 10 good bites and managed to hook 0.
Jetspray and I arrived at ICR shortly after 0700. The wind was soft from the east and the lake was completely free of ice. We fished until noon and we both took the skunk. There seems to be lots of fish in the lake. We heard stories of a couple of 10#+ fish coming in last week. There were both tube guys and small boats on the lake + others on the shore. We saw only 5 fish caught. The catching was poor but the day was about as nice you could ever hope for at this time of year. Thanks for fishing for me Dave. Anyone want some bait hooks?

Well at least you learned about hooks. I wouldn't of guessed that outcome you experienced.

Thanks for the lovely pics even without fish
