Fished from 0500-0900 on Thursday 04-26. Got my first bite around 0630 and then nothing for the next 1.5 hrs. I was moving my 2nd pole around to get a bite which was about 30 yards away from my 1st pole when I heard an angler yell out "Bite!". I looked back at my 1st pole and it was bending up and down and I ran back fast to set the hook. It felt heavy but was not really fighting at first. I thought I had a catfish because it stayed at the bottom and was not shaking. Then as it got closer to shore I see it was a trout and it started to peel off! It made a few runs out until it got tired and an angler netted it for me. Finally my first whopper for the year weighing at 5.8lbs. It bit on green PW/white PE combo. FISH ON!

NICE FISH! Way to stay with it, even after the bite slowed.

Congrats on the WHOPPER!

Great Job Youngling! That trout is a monster. It's always nice to see catches outta Quarry Lakes, especially for trout. Man, it seems that the trout bite has been a little tough at Quarry recently though. But the bass are biting though :)

That's a great looking trout Matt. Maybe Quarry will pick up with this warmer weather.
