    If stored out of the sun, most non-braid lines will last two years with maximum strength.

    I tend to toss my leader material after two years, since it is the weakest "Link" in landing
    a large fish...

    Added note of safety;

    I use a 9 weight Salmon rod for the 1 oz. "Flys" and make sure that.......
    the rod is held so the heavy, fast traveling hook does not, in any way..........

    Wanted to try fly in Florida but they usually do spin rods or heavy level wind rigs don there.
    Most don't want to do crappie or bass.......... just the salt water species but gun and go tactics........

    I have had good luck with a plain old white or black, 1 oz. lead jig for fishing in tide and salt water.

    however I did see where the 76 on Plumb lane is trying to gouge you for $3.99 a gallon !!
