Make sure you measure from inside the horns on the side and not to the outside. Im not trying to make a big deal because I don't care but DFG will bang you if you think you have a legal crab and its 1/4" short.

    Re: Upcoming dungie season....

I fished off of Pacifica Pier on Friday (11/7)...my first time crabbin' off of Pacifica so I wasn't too sure what to expect. There was a lot of people with lots and lots of tangles. Seems like people don't have a problem coming right next to you and just cast out, sometimes casting right over your lines and your buddy's line too.

it was great to be out there though. the weather was so nice. we spent most of the day there. I had a great time despite the crowd and a few bad attitudes.

however, my haul was not as impressive as ShadFever's. I ended up with only two legals and had to throw back 4 shorts. not a terrible way to play hooky from work.

I was going to go out there today but couldn't find a road partner. too far of a drive from Sacramento by myself.

Can't wait to boil up a few more...

    good luck out there!!!

Do you need a fishing license to catch crab off the pier?

Lots of ass holes this year lol I guess it's every year. But I wish people would relax and not be in a hurry and make mistakes. It's sad to see people all in a hurry And jepordize everyone's safety. Let's all work together and be good people to each other!

Oh yeah, 5 people capsized on Saturday morning coming in at around 10am. They were experienced and on a 32' boat but didn't wear their PFDs. 4 of them died and only 1 survived.
