    Here's another gross one that I remember used to be quite a common occurence particularly in jacksmelt. Sometimes the flesh would be absolutely infested with these worms. Enjoy!!

    Cymothoa exigua

    From wikipedia:
    Cymothoa exigua
    was depicted in the 2012 film The Bay, in which the residents of a small town on the Chesapeake Bay were infected by the parasite, and died as a result. The film proposed that Cymothoa exigua grew to large sizes quickly due to the steroid laden chicken feces dumped in the bay.

    I thought they were pretty rare.

    I actually pulled a couple of the tongue huggers out of a couple rock fish this year at tamales point. Creepy little guys
