    Re: Pyramid Shore for Dummies

    Shore fishing can be great, I get a kick during the "Spawn" when the fish are swimming in front of the fly fishermen
    and even behind them !!
    A fun time to just relax and enjoy the show that the fish put on for you.

    It is not unusual to see "Cruisers" going by in the shallow waters along the shore line or even a dorsal fin cutting through the waters.
    You will enjoy this lake, even if you do not get into the trout, since there is ALWAYS the chance that you will get a
    TEN pond trout to take your offering.

    One note;
    on one outing, we found that boating can also produce some fish, if in the right spot.
    Lee taking pictures............... me too!!

    I have a couple of Lamiglas rods 8 ft spinning type and a couple of Shimano reels (high end) for casting, both have 15 lb Suffix 832 braid on them, if you use mono don't be afraid to go higher like 20 lb or more, they are not line shy. Just remember your casting from the shore into deep water so you need to get out as far as you can and let it sink to the bottom with an open bail. Then start your reeling in, they are usually trying to get something moving on the bottom.....Jetspray

    Nice! very comprehensive, all the information anyone would need, with history too!

    Now, do us a favor and don't write such a comprehensive guide to (that other un-named fishery)...

    or was this a chum to divert pressure...
    Just kidding, you've done a great job and many people will benefit from it.

    And I noticed your admonishment to bring a camera; those of us that focus on Sierra fishing aren't there just to stare at water!

    thanks again!
