Re: how do y'all carry/transport your fishing rods?

Use cheap woman's hair ties from the dollar store aka rod wraps to keep them from getting tangled. No issues at all anymore for me

I use this. Keeps them up and out of the way so no broken rod tips while transporting.

Purchased mine for $99.99 and it appears prices have gone up. A little pricey but I've had mine for 10+ years and love it.

I picked up a couple of these at Wild Sports. Available in both spinning and casting, simple sleeves 8ft long and adjustable. Velcro pouch to cover lures/hooks. Only downside, they are not designed to cover the reel

These are less than $30 on eBay.

Re: how do y'all carry/transport your fishing rods?

I don't take the reels off. I usually carry 2-3 rods and reels and just hate getting them mixed and stuck all over. Was looking for a bag or smaller case of some sort that i can just put them in individually... will check ebay again and bass pro. Thanks

Edit: i usually just put them in the car trunk or truck bed.

If you're transporting them without the reels then you can make a very simple rod tube out 3" White Corex drain pipe or 4" ABS DWV. You can get either at Home Depot.

I use the caps they sell for either product and place foam in them before I put them on to protect the rod tips.

I also put a wrap of tape on one end of the tube so the cap doesn't fully seat on that end which makes it fit snug but is still easy enough to remove.

You can make a handle and attach it in the middle of the tube to make it easier to carry.

I place them in the boat's rod holder...except when traveling to Oregon's Columbia River Gorge then I put them in the cabin locked because there were many stops for fuel and such. I didn't want them to develop legs and walk off .

how do y'all carry/transport your fishing rods?

Looking for a way to carry my rods. I was using an old foldable-mesh chair bag but my bigger rods and reels don't fit. I don't want something too bulky... any ideas?
