Re: Tica Kokanee Reels at Kokaneemart!

    Hi Liter of koke,

Tica is working on a small line counter reel. They currently have some about the size of a Diawa SG27 and larger in a graghite chassis.

I have been bugging them for over a year now to produce one in the Caiman line but haven't seen anything for 2009. They are beginning to realize how big the Kokanee and trout market is though. They came out with some cool E-glass Kokanee rods for 2009.

Hopefully we will see the Caiman line-counter reels for 2010.

    Vance

Re: Tica Kokanee Reels at Kokaneemart!

I Agree...I use both the 100 and 200 series for my guide business. I have purchased all the others over the years...I definitely like the Tica better.

I use the 100 series for Koke,Kings, and Trout. The Tica reel is the only reel that I have purchased that has lasted anytime at all.

If you are looking for a couple of quality reels...you need to give them a try.

I would recommend them to anyone.

    Re: Kokanee Reel at Kokaneemart

We have just added the new Tica Caiman CM 100 reels to our product line. here is the picture of this awesome new reel...

This reel is the Gold Standard and is perfect for kokanee fishing!

Kokaneemart has not carried a fishing reel until now because we were looking for a unique reel with all of the features required for kokanee fishing at an affordable price.

These features include being a small lightweight levelwind, excellent quality, great drag, a clicker and with enough room to hold over 200 yds of line. This reel has all of these qualities and even has an awesome feel due to the fantastic design with 12 ball bearings for amazing smoothness.

Vance Staplin (Vance's Tackle) showed me this Tica Reel and I believe it is the best reel around for kokanee fishing. This reel has a gear ratio of 5.2:1 and weighs only 10.4 ounces. It has a line retrieve of 18.8 inches per handle return and even comes with a beautiful black foam reel cover to protect it from the elements. The Tica Caiman CM 100 has a one piece aluminum frame for strength and lightness, a great star drag with a clicker, 12 ball bearings for Swiss watch like smoothness, a line out alarm (clicker) built into the reel and a soft touch paddle handle.

It is a beautiful Gold color that will look great on any rod out there. It looks especially good and is balanced perfectly on the Kufa, Rogue and Kokaneemart Handmade rods.

Try one this season...for kokanee fishing, it's the Gold Standard!

    OUR PRICE: *$119.95

Look for it at www.kokaneemart.com * under the "MORE GOOD STUFF" Category on the leftside *menu .

This reel would make a great gift!

I just got two of the 101 left handed models from Ric today. I cannot wait to get these wet. Build quality seems great and as usual the price, service, and lightning quick delivery from Kokaneemart continues to astound me. :o :)

    Thanks Ric!!!

I'll chime in on this one too. I agree with the comments about quality and function. I run 2 of them and 2 Garcia's. The Tica's are smoother, great for the downriggers and easier on the pocketbook. I love them!

    Re: Kokanee Reel at Kokaneemart

    Hi Ric,

I'm hearing terrific things about the Tica Caiman reels. So far the response is 100% positive about the newest versions of the Caiman.

Compared to the small Shimano Calcutta the Tica Caiman is $150.00 less, has more ball bearings and a clicker that is incredibly handy for downrigging.

In fact, the Tica Caiman Ct series is about the same price ($89.99) as the well known multi piece (old school technology) Abu C-4. Actually the larger Abu-C4's cost more than the larger Tica Caiman CT 200 (still $89.99) reels. The Tica Caiman CT 200 reels are awesome for Stripers and Halibut.

Don't get me wrong...Both the Shimano and Abu Reels are great reels, but for these prices....Move over Shimano and Abu....

    Tica is moving in! ;)

    My .02 cents
