    I’m sure the river changed after the flood. New holes and gravel bars. You can’t go off old spots after a major flood.

    Hmmmm...I scouted the whole river today and it was still slow as molasses in December. What worries me more though is the complete absence of fish in places where they should be showing themselves, rolling, etc. 25 years of fishing this river and I've learned where they hold up on their move upriver - places you can always watch them surface, roll, etc. I visited several of those places today and there was very little activity...

    Went from discovery up to 80 yesterday AM, never saw a roller, tossed spinners and dropped jigs in some deeper slots, even threw some glides for striper for a bit. Lots of garbage floating around, that was it.
