Re: Anyone have experience with Pyramid Lake down near Castaic?

I’d replace minnow with throwing a trout swimbait in some shape or form. Huddlestons, savage gear trouts, triple trouts, deps slideswimmers, Mattlures deadtwtitch, lunker punkers and the like. Not a coincidence that the giant bass hunting guys down there also get into some monster stripers from time to time as bycatch.

Fish around a trout stock if you can.

Let us know how the journey goes. I’ve driven past pyramid 1000 times and have always wanted to try since I learned of the stripes being in there. Think the lake record was illegally taken on a live trout as well.

Anyone have experience with Pyramid Lake down near Castaic?

I am headind down there next month and have heard the striper bite can get going pretty good at times. I am thinking about using the typical shad and minnow patterns we use up here, but I am hoping to get some local knowledge on methods etc. All help is appreciated, thanks!
