You probably need at least 30hp+ to plane out for three people on a deep V type of boat

I checked west coast all the way to seattle and this one seemed very high priced.
There are plenty at $2k and a great started boat. 14' Gregger, Valco are great trusting in bad weather, 15 hp minimum Mine was 25hp and got better gas mileage than 15 hp by twice. That was back in the 2 stroke days

I would say no. I sold my Crestliner for a little above 5k with a 30 Honda. 20 year old motor with 30-40 hours sounds fishy.

    seems a bit high... IMHO

I see these all the time in the 2K range. downriggers are 100.00
fishfinders 200, you can customize one for under 5k all day.
now if this was say a 17ftr walk around center console then ya...
for 5k you can get a bit bigger boat that will be way better.

here is a compare to your posting.

Thoughts on this boat- as first fishing boat

I found an ad for a 14ft westcoaster aluminum boat with a 25hp honda 4 stroke 1998 model. It also comes with trailer, bimini top, downriggers. Owner is asking $5k. Says boat is in really good condition. Is this a reasonable price for this setup?
